Just like what the topic says.
So yeah, I got a new MacBook :)
So, this past weekend I attended FanimeCon 2008. For those that don't know, Fanime is an Anime convention so people can cosplay as their favorite anime characters or just plain hang out with friends haha. I chose the hang out with friends portion. What really caught my interest for Fanime this year aside from my best friend Kevin, dj'ing, was a J-Rock group "AN-CAFE" performing live!
P.S. I CANT GET THE ENDING SONG TO HARUHI OUT OF MY HEAD DAMNIT...
What won't you miss about 2007?

So this is gonna be short and sweet (i think). This past week was by far the worst in my life. Not only was scared to death because I thought I had appendicitis, it all ends with me getting a f'ing cold to top it all off.
First thing, I woke up on Saturday (the 31st) and was feeling PERFECTLY fine...Drove to work, had a pretty shotty day to start off with and then it was lunch time. I said "Hey guys! Let's go to the Mexican joint down the street and get some quesadillas!" Man...worst mistake ever.. After eating the OH SO YUMMY quesadilla, I made haste to the bathroom to ex-foliate my vomit upon their toilet because for some unknown reason, I got pretty damn sick. Now normally I would just be like "It's ok..I can just walk it off" but no, this was different. I went back to the store only to vomit some more and then be sent promptly home by the manager. I was so paranoid driving home that I was gonna have to pull over and hurl. I finally arrived home and my girlfriend was like "why are you home so early?" so I explained to her the story and then yeah..that is that.
Later that night I went to pick up my parents at the San Jose Airport because they were arriving home from Las Vegas from a week vacation. At this time, I was feeling pretty fine and knew my surroundings and all was good. We went to their house and chilled for a bit and then I ate some cheese. What a fucking idiot I am. I felt fine until it was time to go to dinner. You see, this is my most angry part of the whole ordeal, we were going to my favorite restaurant for dinner. We got to the restaurant and I just had a feeling that it was all bad. Nothing good was going to come from this. Normally I get to this restaurant and my heart gleams with joy and happiness. Not this time, no, something was different. My body started getting all retarded and shit. So I was like whatever, I'll just eat a few veggies and I think ill be fine. NOPE. I proceeded to their bathroom only to soil their toilet with my vomit. From here on out I felt pretty damn sick.
The next day I called in to work because I just wanted to rest and get better. I chose to go to the doctor because I wanted to make sure that nothing was SERIOUSLY wrong with me. So I go to the ER and I patiently wait drinking my water and then it's my turn to go in..I get in the room, they ask my some questions, and push on my stomach. They were checking for something that they call "rebound tenderness". This is a symptom if you have appendicitis whey they push down on your stomach and let go promptly, you get this excruciating pain in your lower right abdomen. Luckily, I had no such pain. She said "Corey, you have gastroenteritis." I said wtf? She then replied "The stomach flu, you SHOULD start feeling better within 24 to 48 hours..." so I took the doc's advice and just rode it out..Slowly but surly I started to feel better.
Now I'm ok, but, I got a stuffy nose, sore throat, and a slight cough...Still, having a cold is LOADS better than the stomach flu...
-sorry, not as short as I thought it was gonna be..-
So today....for some odd reason I thought to myself, "I sorta wanna blog today". In recent news, I bought a new car!
I got me a toaster...aka Scion xB. It's a pretty decent car, im getting 36+ mpg....most of my life is commuting, so it works out really good for me.I went into the Scion dealership and was greeted by Javid. Javid you see, is a Indian person ( I think....). So the FIRST thing that went through my head was..GOOD DEALS!! I took every assumption that I was gonna be fucked around with and not get what I wanted...My good friend Kenji was with me at the time, and I was just looking at first...then I paused and looked at him and said "I feel like buying a car today.". He looked at me like WTF. Kenji said "Man, I think you are just trying to waste your money...you're just kidding, you won't buy a car.". Javid then stated "Let's get your paperwork started..." WOAH THERE COWBOY!! He sorta just pushed me in the ICE. So I sorta played along with him and said "Ok". We then proceeded to go to Javid's desk. Javid then pulled out a paper and said "I need you to fill this out, this is your credit application form". Likewise, I did as told, and filled out the paper. Me being the awesome person I am, came back with AWESOME credit...FICO Score of 731 BITCHES!!!
Then came the fun part....the trade-in. You see, the week before I got my new car, I got rear-ended on 101..Kevin can attest for me on this one. I did not report it to my insurance, nor did I intend on fixing it. Javid at first was like, "Man, I can only get you $2000 for your car...it's fucked up man". Me using my QUICK THINKING was like "Well Javid, you see, I am in sales too and know you are just going for the easy way out...ITS NOT THAT EASY MY FRIEND!!!!" I told him that I wanted $3000 for my car atleast, and told a little white lie that Mazda offered me $3100 for my bucket of shit Focus. He went and talked to his boss "MO" and lo and behold, I got 3 grizzles for my car....THATS A GRIP! So here I am now...with a toaster for a car..
Comment people.
This, people, is what my work looks like(albeit, it is a great job..). I get to drive my ass to and fro(Cupertino to San Mateo for those that don't know me)EVERYDAY!!
I get to deal with peoples problems and praises about switching from the great AT&T WIRELESS to what people would now call the New CINGULAR WIRELESS..The people will come in and ask questions such as "How do I access my VoiceMail" and "What exactly are "Rollover Minutes" and I can't leave out my all-time-favorite...wait for it...wait..wait...wait....."CAN I HAVE A GOOOOOD DEALLLL!!"
Im sorta shocked and apalled at the same time as how much people are willing to go thru with ruining others days by asking for a few dollars off of a phone. I mean, come on guys...You all make enough money and work at some pretty big corporations. The least you can do is pay the price that is marked on the price tag.
How hard is it, to look at a price, see that it says 2yr contract(don't even get me started on contract. 1yr and 2yr pricings are DIFFERENT, not the same or cheaper on a 1yr than a 2yr). Just because you are a VP of some Company X, does not make you any different or better than me. Hell, I an EMPLOYEE of the company has to pay more money for the phone than you do. Give me a f'in break.
What you see here is where I spend my days making my money to pay "DA BILLZ"(汗. I stand here for 8+ hours a day talking about my favorite subject, SPENDING YOUR MONEY TO MAKE SOME IN MY WALLET!
"Poppa's got a family to feed, so you're getting MEdia Works!"
Is the way I feel with every customer. Sometimes they bite, some times they don't. But they love the I have 7kids at home line...they eat it like a fat kid with cake...
So the moral of the story kids DONT BE CHEAP
Soda? Cola? Pop? What do you say? Any other regional words that set you apart?
Question submitted by Gladys.
So if ya go back to "Da ROOTS" Eastcoast in NYC i used to call it pop....When i lived in New Orleans i called it Cola....California i call it soda.....amazing how the regions of the US call different things so efficiently different.
What was the highlight of this past weekend?
Hmmm...Lets see. Other than being stuck at work all day, then my AC getting broke in 100+ degree weather. I would have to say...Nothing really, other than me getting to be with my GF all weekend. Haha
So this is me and my girlfriend Yuri. She is from Japan. It's pretty amazing because you see, I speak Japanese and I get to help her with her English whilst she helps me with my Japanese so it's working out great! 「良いでしょう?」She is the love of my life, I really didn't realize I could like someone so much without me knowing this myself. I thouroughly enjoy seeing her before I go to sleep everynight and her being the first thing I see in the morning...
